LEAD GUIDE – Full Time
Applicants must have an undergraduate degree, as well as the appropriate Montessori certification from a MACTE-accredited program (Infant/Toddler or Early Childhood). Applicants must also be at least 21 years of age, as required by the State of Tennessee Department of Education requirements.
Candidates will have a love of teaching and working with young children, classroom teaching experience, and a true passion for the Montessori philosophy. Lead guides are self-guided, yet work well as a team player and collaborator, and will be able to seamlessly transition into our established school community.
INFANT / TODDLER (NIDO) ASSISTANT – Full Time
Nido Assistants will support the Nido Lead Guide in caring for our infants aged 6 months – 18 months each day. Candidates should have a love of teaching and working with infants and toddlers and classroom teaching experience. While Montessori experience is not required, an interest in the philosophy is preferred. Assistants are energetic, caring and self-starters, and truly enjoy working with infants and toddlers. A successful applicant will be able to seamlessly transition into our established school community. Applicants MUST also be at least 21 years of age, as required by the State of Tennessee Department of Education requirements.
PRIMARY ASSISTANT – Full Time
Primary Assistants support our Primary Lead Guides in caring for our 3 to 6 year-old students each day. Candidates MUST have childcare experience with preschool-aged children, preferably in a classroom setting. While Montessori experience is not required, an interest in the philosophy is preferred. Assistants are energetic, caring, and self-starters, and truly enjoy working with children. A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required, and applicants must be at least 21 years old, as required by the State of Tennessee Department of Education requirements.
AFTERCARE ASSISTANT – Part Time or Full Time
Aftercare responsibilities include coordinating activities for the children, preparing snacks, and supervising the aftercare assistants. Part-time positions are from 3pm – 6pm, Monday – Friday, including full days during our school vacation days/holidays. Full-time positions are from 10am-6pm Monday – Friday, including full days during our school vacation days/holidays.
Candidates will have experience working with children ages 18 months – 3 years or 3 years – kindergarten. While Montessori experience is not required, an interest in the philosophy is preferred. Candidates are also self-starters with a flexible schedule, positive energy, creativity, and a love of working with young children. You should also be able to adapt to various situations with ease and be able to multi-task.
SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS – Per Diem
We have the occasional need for substitute teachers in both our Primary and Toddler classrooms. If you have a teaching/education background and would like to be considered for a per diem substitute position, please forward your resume and cover letter. Substitute teachers are hired on an as-needed basis, and are most often asked to work from 8:30am – 3:30pm.
Montessori experience is not required, but an interest in/understanding of the philosophy is preferred. The hourly rate is commensurate with education + experience.
